What is Mietagentur.ch?
Mietagentur.ch is a vetted online marketplace for the Swiss events industry. Vetted providers rent out event equipment such as photo booths, smokers, mobile bars, lighting and sound or refrigerated trailers, and present event venues and service providers such as caterers, DJs, photographers or decorators. The operator is Brainfuzz AG in Schlieren (Zurich). The platform grew out of Catering & Event Services, with 17 years of experience in the events industry and more than 3,000 events and rentals a year.
What does renting through Mietagentur.ch cost?
The platform is free for renters. You pay the rental price the provider lists for the item, plus any delivery or cleaning costs. You see the total before you send your request. The request is non-binding and can be cancelled free of charge until payment.
How does a rental work?
In five steps: you choose the item, the period and the handover, and send a non-binding request. The provider confirms bindingly, with the rental contract as a PDF. You pay online within 72 hours by credit card or TWINT. At handover and return, you record the condition in a photo record. After a return without damage, the deposit is released and you rate each other.
How are providers vetted?
Before a provider is activated, we check their business registration, identity and the quality of their listings. Every new listing is reviewed before it goes live. For equipment providers, our payment partner Stripe also verifies identity and bank account.
How does the deposit work?
The deposit is not charged in advance. It is reserved on your credit card two days before the rental starts and released after a return without damage. Only in case of damage is it charged, in full or in part, after review. The provider sets the amount, which is shown on the listing.
Can I cancel a booking?
Until payment, every request can be cancelled free of charge. After payment, the refund depends on how long it is until the rental starts: more than 30 days, a full refund minus a handling fee; 15 to 30 days, 50%; 7 to 14 days, 25%; less than 7 days, none. If the provider cancels, you always get the full amount back.
Can I also book venues and service providers?
For event venues and service providers such as caterers, DJs or photographers, you send an enquiry through the platform. Quote, viewing and contract are then arranged directly with the provider. Only event equipment is booked and paid for online.

All of Switzerland. Search by postcode or town to see what can be collected or delivered near you. The platform is available in German, French and English.
How do I become a provider?
You register as a provider, create your listings and submit them for review. Once activated, they are public. For equipment, you only pay a commission on successful rentals. Venues and service providers start with a free basic listing; the «Verified» (CHF 490 a year) and «Premium» (CHF 890 a year, plus VAT) packages add unlimited enquiries and visible contact details.
